Practicing for a little sister

This is sweet Madelyn from daycare. She's recently started crawling and loves playing with the boys! she's also started enjoying stealing noah's blanket, as you can see! noah wasn't very happy about it, and although he was still gentle with her, he was not going to share his blanket! but in the end, she does end up with it as he gave up! I told him to get used to it. :)

meet our daughter!

Today we found out we are having a GIRL! we are very excited and thankful for such a healthy baby! She looks a lot like noah did on his ultrasound, so we're anxious to see and meet her in may! (except unlike noah, she'd better have some hair!) :)

i LOVE this picture! she is extremely active (unlike noah) and bryan enjoys feeling her kick and bounce. well, noah wanted to copy daddy and feel mommy's tummy too. i'm not one to post pictures of myself showing skin, but this one was just too sweet!

noah listening to his sister bouncing around. he actually listened for quite a while.

riverside teamed up with build a bear to sell bear kits which included the maternal fetal center recording the heartbeat and an I <3 riverside tshirt for the bear. so we went to build a bear after the ultrasound and made a baby girl bear, complete with our daughter's strong heartbeat!

here she is! yes, i know it's horribly blurry, but the scanner isn't working and i had to take a pic of a pic which wasn't that great! but this is her profile! we got to see every part of her, including watching blood flow through her heart, umbilical cord, kidneys, and other intestinal parts with the colored doppler. she's growing wonderfully and strong and healthy...thank you Lord!

Popcorn!

Bryan is a popcorn lover! He could eat popcorn every day (and sometimes does!). He loves the microwave kind, but his favorite is popping it himself, especially with the different color/flavors of popcorn. Noah has taken after him and loves popcorn as well, so last night Bryan decided to show Noah how to make 'real' popcorn. Noah did a great job helping make and eat the blue popcorn all gone! And yes, Grandma Wilma, he was very safe the whole time!

ooh, blue popcorn!

don't forget the salt, dad

thanks for sharing!

Snow Family

and here they are! bryan made a snowman for each of us! Bryan, Me and Baby, Noah, Grandma Wilma, Lindsay and Baby, and Colin. Each has something special about them:
Bryan~Ohio State hat Amy~holding new non-bald baby, wearing scarf (i go everywhere with my scarf) Noah~silly hat Grandma~real glasses Lindsay~holding new bald baby and wearing graduation hat (because bryan said she still has to graduate!) and Colin~perfect lip ring! even after he built all of them, it snowed 3 more inches and covered all the bare patches from rolling! it was snowy fun!

Snowstorm!!!!

While in Michigan we enjoyed a HUGE snowstorm with 8 inches one night, then 3 more the next! unlike ohio, michigan gets the super good packing snow so i taught bryan how to make a real snowman (see last pic). He made the first one with noah, then noah and i went in and he stayed out all day making 5 more!! i'll put pics of them on here next! the trees were beautiful weighed down with the heavy snow and noah loved rolling around and watching the dogs play. molly and beau love the snow too (dakota is too small and gets too cold). we had a blast!

Happy 2008!

We spent New Year's Eve at aunt florence's with a yummy crab boil! MMMMM! the babies were awake, asleep, awake, asleep and some hit the midnight time! i love the picture of baby new year, xander! isn't he cute! looking forward to a wonderful new year!

Christmas in Michigan!

On Christmas morning we got up early and drove to Michigan to see Grandma Wilma! in the afternoon we opened lots of gifts and had fun playing with the new toys. a few days later we went to aunt florence's and opened gifts with xander and troy and had fun there too! our biggest christmas surprise was that noah will have a new cousin next summer! congrats aunt 'deedee' and colin!

Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma King's

After our Christmas, we drove out to Grandpa and Grandma King's house to spend Christmas Eve. We got to play with Uncle Mike, Aunt Bobbi, and cousin Corbin too! Noah and Corbin played really well together and we all had a great evening!

Christmas at Home!

Our own Christmas is always on Christmas Eve morning at home. This year we surprised Noah with a new basketball hoop! He was stunned to walk in the room that morning and see it, but immediately grabbed the ball and started shooting! We couldn't even get him to open his other gifts for a long time. We enjoyed making christmas cookies the night before where he sneaked dough to eat without us even having to teach him how! and it was nice that he could open his own gifts this year, but he had to have EVERY piece of paper off before he would even look at the gift...OC anyone? It was a wonderful Christmas!

first haircut!

just a few pics from noah's first haircut yesterday. he sat wonderfully still watching wonder pets the entire time i worked on him. the front and sides really needed cut, but i only trimmed the back...i couldn't cut off his beautiful blonde curls just yet. someday he want his head shaved all the time, or none at all, so i'm enjoying the curls while i have them! not too bad for a first time mommy cut!

snaggletooth

well noah made it to 17 months before his first big owie! at the christmas party the other night he was running and tripped and fell face first into the front of the arm of a leather chair that had large metal brads down the front. he chipped his top right tooth as you can see and pushed it back up inside his gum a little. he also cut both lips and bruised his nose and chin. he screamed and shrieked for 20 minutes straight before we decided to take him in. (he screamed nonstop for 45 minutes before just falling asleep). we were just a few blocks from children's so we took him to the urgent care and got sent to the emergency room because they keep a pediatric dentist on call. (it took us longer to walk from the urgent care to the er than our entire time in the er! it was nice!). he checked his mouth and said hopefully the tooth didn't cause damage to his permanent tooth behind it and said it may come back down on it's own and even back up with the other teeth. as for the chip, he said it's not worth fixing since it's a baby tooth and fixing it would be traumatic for him. we have to watch for infection and stuff and take him back to the dentist in 2 weeks. poor thing doesn't even have all his teeth yet (he only has 10!) and already messed one up! so now mommy calls him snaggletooth!

dressin up

between the broken camera and a wiggly toddler it took about 40 shots to get a good pic for our christmas card! (these are but a few!) but he looks so handsome ~ especially in front of the REAL christmas tree! :) i love it!

wait mom, my hair isn't right

combing it nice and neat

dad, i can't see the tv!

Anniversary!

for our 8th anniversary on tuesday, we enjoyed an evening out at G.Michael's in german village! it was a wonderful dinner and great experience! See my beautiful corsage? so did former judge, janet jackson, who was having dinner near us and caught the waiter to inquire about the corsage and our reason for being there (she is now executive chairman of united way). when he told her it was our 8th anniversary, she graciously treated us to desert. afterwards she came over to talk to us and said their group was admiring us and our 8 years and what a great example that was. it was a nice touch to a terrific evening! and thank you miss kristi for keeping our son...it made the meal much more relaxed! :)
